Dale Earnhardt - NASCAR Driver

Dale Earnhardt was a champion stock car driver with NASCAR who won seven championships. He died in the final lap of the Daytona 500 in 2001

Dale Earnhardt was born on April 29, 1951, in Kannapolis, North Carolina. He drove in NASCAR's top division and was the first driver to win Rookie of the Year and the championship back-to-back. In total, Earnhardt -- known as "The Intimidator" for his aggressive driving -- won seven Winston Cup Championships and broke $30 million in career earnings. He died in a crash during the 2001 Daytona 500

Dale Earnhardt Jr. - NASCAR Driver

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is a third-generation driver in a family forever connected to the sport of stock-car racing, and while his innate ability behind the wheel comes from Earnhardt DNA, his competitive driving style and keen business sense are all his own. His flair for originality and common-sense charisma have helped propel him to become one of the most popular figures in sports. Race fans have selected him a record 12 consecutive times as the winner of NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver award. Earnhardt’s appeal is not limited to NASCAR’s loyal race fans, as he has appeared on Harris Interactive’s annual survey of America’s Top 10 Favorite Athletes, frequenting the list with such names as LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Peyton Manning and Derek Jeter.
